Since graduating in 1996, Claire has taught across the primary age range in schools in Birmingham, Trafford, Chicago and Warrington, where she was deputy headteacher for four years, as well as working as a primary mathematics consultant for Lancashire and Warrington local authorities.
In 2011, Claire gained an MA in Early Mathematics Intervention from Edge Hill University which was completed whilst becoming an Accredited Every Child Counts Lead Trainer.
Claire is an independent primary mathematics consultant and trainer and has extensive experience of leading professional development for teachers and teaching assistants across the North West of England. She has also worked as an associate tutor on initial teacher training programmes at Liverpool Hope University and currently leads training for a number of teaching school alliances for their School Direct programmes.
Claire is an NCETM Professional Development Accredited Lead which has enhanced her consultancy and training. Claire leads the Mastery Readiness Programme for North West 3 Maths Hub and works closely with schools to support their journey towards teaching for Mastery. She is also the Work Group Lead for SKTM (Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics) Primary Programme for North West 3 Maths Hub.
She is currently working towards gaining accreditation as a specialist dyscaclulia teacher.
